Q What is subrogation as it relates to my case when my bills have been paid by my insurance company or a govenmental entity?
ASubrogation is when another party, frequently a health insurance company, Medicare or Medicaid, has the right to part of your recovery. When you bills have been paid, you may be responsible to reimburse whoever paid the bills. When this occurs, we make it a point to have the carrier or agency pay a percentage of your recovery costs which means a fair share of attorney fees and other costs associated with your claim. Sometimes the plans don't allow for the sharing of fees or costs but that is a rare occurrence. Call Alvin Wolff Jr. and Associates at 314-241-2500 to see if we can help you with your problem.
